Snooker star Jimmy 'The Whirlwind' White buy's at The Palm

For a visitor of Pattaya and Thailand generally of no less than 20 years, it seems quite flattering for any developer when someone with this level of history with the city finally decides it's their development that they wish to buy their first residence with. That is precisely what has happened with Jimmy 'Whirlwind' White, the snooker legend from the UK when he met up with Mr. Rony Fineman, a partner in The Palm (owner of the successful Nova Group) on 17th May 2011. A sponsorship event at Rony's Nova Platinum Hotel led on to a luncheon meeting and then a visit to The Palm's idyllic beachfront soon after took place. It was at this point Jimmy realised this was what he'd been looking for and further discussions took place. Rony stated "as Jimmy put it best he said; The choice was easy, I bought in the best location. What more can we say".

Jimmy White remains a household favourite in the heart of many snooker fans worldwide for his down to earth attitude and brilliance on the table. At the time of writing, Jimmy is currently in Thailand on a celebrity snooker road trip for 9 days exhibiting in Bangkok, Hui Hin, Samui and of course Pattaya.

Sneak Preview of the New Palm Showroom on Agents Day

On the 19th August, the cities real estate brokers were invited to an all-day viewing of the recently opened 25M THB beachfront show units. The day's informal event saw over 100 registering local and international agents in attendance providing very positive feedback to what they saw. Many agents shared that they had several prospective buyers simply waiting to see the final layout and designs in their real format and that they had no concerns about bringing these customers to the Palm in the coming weeks.

Construction Signing Ceremony

On 2nd September, a formal signing ceremony was held at CB Richard Ellis Offices in Bangkok to award officially and sign the Construction Contract to build The Palm. The 1.2 Billion THB winning tender was awarded to Vorakit Construction.

In attendance above was (Left to right) Mr. Simon Swain (The Palm), Mr. Phakaphot Phakdeesanaeha & Mr. Vorachai Phakdeesanaeha (Vorakit Construction), Rony Fineman (The Palm), Ms. Grunjeera (CBRE), Mr. Birathon Kasemsri and Mr. Winston Gale (The Palm)

Vorachai Phakdeesanaeha, MD of Vorakit Construction said "we are delighted to be The Palm's construction company and look forward to proudly building both Towers for the owners". Mr. Winston Gale, a partner in The Palm stated "This is a key moment for us and ensuring we use the right team is paramount to this projects success, to which we welcome Vorakit Construction". Mr. Rony Fineman, also a partner went on to say: "Vorakit construction are completing a very successful build on the 'Cliff' project in Prattumnak for me, they have proved that they are a very capable company that can deliver on time".

Above, in good mood with team spirit in mind, the group celebrate the signing.

Construction is planned for the end of this year and is expected to take just over 3 years to build both towers with a completion of mid-2015. The 46 floor beach front tower is now well recognised and accepted as soon to become a commanding landmark building in Pattaya with its unique position located on an exceptionally rare peninsula location. The rear tower will be 26 floors high and boosts stunning unobstructed sea views from all units

E.I.A. Planning - Well Underway

The process of Environmental Impact Assessment has now long been well underway for the Palm since their application was made in late June. So far, The Palm is pleased to report that all has been proceeding well with all the various 9 departments that make up the entire complex planning process. Anticipated EIA planning granted is still expected to be towards the end of the year with the added bonus that it could potentially be awarded sooner, depending upon a few factors mainly circulating around the increased application numbers that Bangkok EIA have to process currently. This is mostly due to the positive serge in developers activity in the market place since late 2010.
